Overview:
The #299 11 degree crossing will keep your mainline on 4" centers when used with the #100 and or the #101 regular switches. Because of the length of these there are two things we would like to point out.
1. You may have to wire in a dz1000 switch machine and dz1008 relay in order that certain engines do not stall in the middle. This is somewhat involved, instructions are included. It all depends on your pickup roller spacing.
2. When backing through, because of the angle in the center diamonds, cars may derail if the trucks are not in gauge. As an example, postwar trucks where the wheels are loose on the axle can sometimes be a problem. Typically, going forward through them is OK.
