Overview:

Alco made multiple improvements to it's FA-1, including upgraded electronics and added space for a steam generator, when it unveiled the FA-2 in 1950. While sales were a modest success, the FA-2s biggest competition came from new road-switchers which Alco had also pioneered. The vast majority of the units would be sold, scrapped or traded in by the end of the next decade. This year's crop of Lionel FA-2's includes some new paint schemes and others back from a long hiatus. And while the Santa Fe never owned FA's, we found the 1957 Lionel version too cool to not bring back. All AA sets come with two powered units, both with smoke and lighting and sounds in the lead loco. Powered and SuperBass B units will fill out your consists with all the power and sounds you could ever want.
