Why Choose the MW605 MAX?
The MW605 MAX is preferred by professionals who need accurate dissolved oxygen measurements without the high cost of optical DO meters. From field biologists and educators to fish farmers, koi pond owners, water treatment plants, and laboratories, the MW605 MAX delivers fast, reliable readings with comprehensive data management. The galvanic probe technology means no warm-up or conditioning time—just calibrate and measure.
What Makes Galvanic Technology Superior?
Unlike polarographic DO probes that require conditioning time, the galvanic probe is ready to measure immediately. The MA860 galvanic probe uses a silver cathode and zinc anode with an oxygen-permeable PTFE membrane, providing fast response times and stable readings without the wait. This makes the MW605 MAX ideal for field work where time and efficiency matter.

Care & Maintenance
Proper maintenance of the galvanic probe ensures accurate, stable measurements and extends probe life.
Probe Maintenance:
The silver cathode should always be bright and untarnished
If tarnished or stained, clean the cathode gently with a lint-free cloth
Rinse the probe with deionized or distilled water after each use
Replace the membrane cap using fresh electrolyte solution
Recalibrate meter after membrane replacement
Membrane Maintenance:
Perfect membrane condition is essential for accurate, stable measurements
Protect the thin membrane from scratches, abrasion, or contact with solids
If not measuring for a few hours, protect membrane with the plastic protective cap
If fouled, rinse carefully with distilled or deionized water
If damaged, replace the membrane cap immediately
Change membrane every 8 weeks or more frequently in fouling environments
Check and replace electrolyte fill solution every 4 weeks
Storage:
Short-term storage:
Switch meter off and clean probe before storage
Store probe with plastic cap on
Can also store in beaker of deionized water with protective cap removed
Long-term storage (dry storage):
Disconnect probe from meter
Unscrew membrane cap
Remove any electrolyte solution from cap
Rinse probe anode/cathode assembly with distilled water and blot dry
Screw membrane cap onto probe until hand tight
