Classé Audio has been building some of the finest amplifiers and components in the world for over 40 years. The CA-300 is no exception and is one of the best. This amp provides 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms and a massive 600 watts per channel into 4 ohms. These are BIG numbers! And it's a BIG amp! Classé’s unique topology uses smaller power and signal capacitors in large capacitor banks for what they called “lightning fast” signal response. The result allows banks of MOSFET, J-FET, and bipolar transistors to work together with instant response. Minimizing signal delays reduces distortion and improving sound. The Canadian company started making these amps back in 1996/97, but the design and the performance characteristics have held steady with Classé since that time.
This CA-300 looks and sounds great. The silver front face plate looks stately and purpose-built. This amp does have a few cosmetic blemishes which are reflected in the price. The bottoms of the silver rack handles and the edges of the silver faceplate have scratches from age.
This amp weighs a ton. It powers all speakers with zero hassle. It has been fully checked by our in-house tech and is ready for many many listening sessions.
