Zinc salts of ricinoleic acid work by binding odor-causing compounds rather than killing bacteria. Because they are not bactericidal, they do not disrupt the skin’s natural microbial flora. They also do not function as antiperspirants and do not block sweat. The result is a very mild, breathable deodorant that helps neutralize odor without pore-clogging or irritation.
