Product Description

Milwaukee MI513-045 High Range Free & Total Chlorine Reagent Kit (45 Tests)Tackle high-concentration chlorine monitoring with confidence using the Milwaukee MI513-045 High Range Free & Total Chlorine Reagent Kit — 45 pre-made DPD liquid reagent tests formulated specifically for the Milwaukee MI413 Free & Total Chlorine Photometer.Designed for water samples with elevated chlorine levels, the MI513-045 covers a measurement range of 0.00 to 10.00 ppm (mg/L) — double the range of standard chlorine reagents — making it the ideal choice for heavily chlorinated systems, shock-treated pools, industrial disinfection, and wastewater treatment applications where standard-range reagents would be exceeded.Key Features

High Range Coverage: 0.00 – 10.00 ppm (mg/L) — ideal for heavily chlorinated water where standard 0–5 ppm reagents fall short

Dual Parameter: Measures both Free Chlorine and Total Chlorine with the MI413 photometer

DPD Colorimetric Method: Industry-standard DPD reaction produces a pink tint proportional to chlorine concentration for precise photometric reading

USEPA & Standard Methods Compliant: Adaptation of USEPA Method 330.5 and Standard Method 4500-Cl G

45 Pre-Made Liquid Tests: Ready-to-use reagents — no preparation, no measuring errors

Expiration Date & Lot Number: Every test is marked for full traceability and quality assurance

MI413-Specific Formulation: Calibrated to the Milwaukee MI413’s optical system for maximum accuracy

Why High Range Reagents?Standard chlorine reagents (0–5 ppm) are insufficient for water systems with elevated disinfectant levels. Shock-treated pools, heavily chlorinated municipal supplies, industrial cooling towers, and wastewater disinfection systems routinely exceed 5 ppm. The MI513-045 extends your measurement capability to 10 ppm — ensuring accurate readings even in the most demanding chlorination scenarios without sample dilution. How It WorksThe DPD (N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) method reacts with free and total chlorine in the water sample to produce a pink-colored solution. The intensity of the color is directly proportional to the chlorine concentration. The MI413 photometer measures this color and displays both free and total chlorine results in ppm (mg/L).How to Use

Fill a clean cuvette with your water sample to the fill line

Add one MI513-045 reagent test to the cuvette

Cap and gently mix until the reagent is fully dissolved

Wait for the color reaction to develop (per MI413 instructions)

Wipe the outside of the cuvette and insert into the MI413 photometer

Read free chlorine and total chlorine concentrations in ppm on the display
