Our sponge bars feature a metal backing and are compatible with Brother/KnitKing, Studio, Singer, Silver Reed, Toyota, and other standard, mid-gauge, and bulky gauge machines. Please note that Passap and Pfaff machines use "pushers" and a spring design instead of sponge bars.
If you're using a ribber attachment, upgrading to an actual sponge retainer bar can improve stitch control and enhance the appearance of your knitted garments, especially for lace or fine knitting projects like suits.
For Toyota knitting machines with extension rails, modifications may be required to use sponge bars. We do not currently offer commercially available sponge bars for Toyota machines with extension rails.
